Teaser
A short, often anonymised summary of a business, sent to prospective buyers or investors to gauge interest.
A teaser usually runs to one or two pages: what the company does, headline financials and the transaction proposed. Recipients who want more sign a non-disclosure agreement and receive the information memorandum.
Because it goes to many readers, knowing who opened it and how far they read helps decide whom to follow up.
