Glossary
Co-investment
An investment made directly into a company alongside a lead fund, usually on the same terms.
Fund managers offer co-investment rights to their limited partners, often with reduced fees and carried interest or none. Family offices use them to build direct exposure without leading deals.
Timelines are short, because the lead has usually finished its own diligence before offering the allocation. The co-investor has days to reach its own view.
